We regularly offer tests and quizzes to help drivers revise their knowledge of traffic rules, safe rides and our service standards.

We let drivers know when there are new limits in the city or when there are temporary rule changes in certain places or districts.

We give a warning
when it’s time to rest

When we see that a driver has been online for a long time, we let them know it’s time to take a break. A tired driver can have a worse reaction to unusual situations, lose focus, and not detect dangerous situations.

If a driver ignores our rest warning, their access to rides may be temporarily suspended.

“Conflict” button

A driver can click “conflict” in the application to make an audio recording of the situation in the car. Up to 10 minutes can be recorded.

The audio recording can help in disputes and can be sent to the support team. A support employee will contact the driver and ask them to describe what happened.

If emergency help is needed during a ride, drivers can quickly dial 112.

Driving profile

Careful driving and compliance with traffic rules are key to keeping roads safe. Yandex Pro helps drivers track how well they contribute to road safety. Every seven days, we send out a driving report for the previous week. Reports show four different performance indicators:

  • Following the speed limit.

  • Smooth maneuvering.

  • Feedback about safe driving.

  • Seat belt usage.

We ask drivers to focus on these points in particular and track them in their driving profile.

Insurance

Insurance during
rides

During a ride, drivers are insured for the sum of 2 000 000 RUB in case of an accident. This doesn’t require any additional payment. You’re covered from the moment the driver clicks “On route” until the moment the ride ends.

  • To get the insurance payment, the injured person needs to collect the documents confirming the accident and the injury: the document about the accident and the document from the passenger’s medical records.

  • Then, contact service support and provide the documents.

  • Service support will assist the passenger at all stages of communication with the insurance company.

Sickness benefits and life insurance

Yandex Pro drivers can get an insurance policy. If you have Gold or Platinum tier, or are a direct partner with Silver tier, Yandex Pro will reimburse 100% of the insurance policy cost to your Yandex Pro balance in bonuses:
  • Payouts up to ₽2,000,000 in the event of accidents.
  • The program is valid when you're not on an order: you already enjoy free insurance from the service when you're online.
  • Payouts are available when drivers get sick with COVID-19 (reimbursed only by this program), URTI, the flu, etc. In Moscow: up to ₽2,000/day from the second day after diagnosis (up to ₽60,000/month). In other regions: up to ₽800/day from the second day after diagnosis (up to ₽24,000/month). The program becomes effective starting 7 days after you pay for the policy.
  • Payouts for injuries and accidents reach ₽1,100/day in Moscow (up to ₽33,000/month) and ₽540/day in other regions (up to ₽16,200/month).

Yandex Pro reimburses 50% of the policy cost to Silver tier drivers of partner taxi companies.

Yandex Pro partner drivers who aren't in Gold, Silver, or Platinum tiers can also purchase an insurance policy for ₽1,100/month and receive payouts when sick.

If a user doesn’t pay
for a ride in cash

Algorithms help handle users who don’t pay for rides: if you request a ride in cash and don’t pay, the system flags you so next time you can only use cashless payment.

For these users, the ride price is charged as soon as a car is assigned. If the card has insufficient funds, the ride is canceled.

We explain how to protect money and funds

Drivers can safely accept payments and use bank cards if they follow simple rules.

  • Don’t tell strangers the card number, its expiry date, information about the bank and the owner, or PIN and CVV2.

  • If the card is missing, quickly contact the bank and ask them to block it.

  • Don’t use other people’s devices, public computers or unprotected networks to access your online banking.

Privacy

Personal data

Everything the drivers and couriers enter in the application is protected in accordance with the law and security standards.

  • Personal information is processed without employees having direct access and in accordance with the company policy.

  • We carefully protect the data in secure Yandex servers.

Phone number
encryption

To protect your data, we encrypt your phone number, so that the driver can’t see it in their application.
